I did not find the process re Part 47 difficult at all.
I had to make some enquiries re some "wobblies" for people I was
JP'ing for and re some problems with one of my own gliders and I
found the CASA people very helpful.
Knee jerk to terrorism issue aside, the process will benefit the
registration system, but I'm glad my name is not Abdul :-)

Chris,
As Steve pointed out they simply aren't going to get all the rego's
transferred in any reasonable time. In any case what is the hurry?
This could have been done at next change of ownership or over 5
years. I can't see how it will prevent any form of terrorism. The
terrorists may be bastards but they aren't necessarily stupid. Bear
in mind they are terrorists and figure out they could terrorise some
innocent into registering an aircraft on their behalf should they
actually worry about silly pieces of paper and not simply steal an
aircraft, throttle or wheels locks being easy to defeat, or simply hire one.
I don't know what you do every day but running around getting the
photos, JP signatures etc and filling in the forms for Part 47, AVID
and ASIC, shot about 3 productive days here. The forms were the most
uninspiring pieces of form design I've seen.
As for GFA, I've been waiting for 5 years for a reply to my last
letter re airworthiness matters which they acknowledged receipt of
and their record of losing important documents is nothing to be proud
of. They "lost" the original TOP documents for quite some time
forcing them to be redone. Toby found the originals without much
difficulty when he had the job.
