As for electrical connectors for lighting etc wires, they are all made by Utilux (or Repco-style copies) but the flat plastic one about 50 mm x 10 mm with the centre pin raised above the line of the others is the Australian Design rules standard that will be fitted to a new vehicle by default.
But recently in SA, I came across a large, circular (about 40mm) diameter metal shell plug with large pins on a glider trailer. It was the same as the one that was fitted in Germany to the Club's new trailer when it arrived in December. They thought it was the Oz standard. What's the deal with these?
