We appear to have a case of a GFA board member being misled, either deliberately or through incompetence.
Please do not go putting words into my mouth.

I am, as I have said, uneasy that perhaps what I was told is not the entire story, but I do /*not*/ know that - and I am doing what I can to find out if that is the case - including having some discussions off-list and I will check information and records that I can find at the GFA offices in August.

That said, proving that someone is right or wrong in what they told me is not my interest in this.

My interest centres on understanding the history in so far as that illuminates the future - so that I can better understand what the GFA's future policies on the issue of licences might be in the gliding world and, more generally, how best to manage the CASA relationship to the benefit of our sport - specifically the best interests of the members of the GFA as determined, ultimately, by the membership through a knowledge and understanding of the facts.
