Dear Fellow Aviators (and Paul) :-))))

Stuart Ferguson did get it right! Bunyan is and has been the wave capital
of Australia... Sorry guys. There is no debate. But that not to say that
other Australian wave sites aren't great... It's just that we at the
Canberra Gliding Club's Bunyan site are blessed with the most scenic and at
times amazing wave in Australia.

I have been fortunate to fly wave in most of the Southern Hemisphere's wave
sites and I'm only a tad biased :-))) Argentina is the best! But in
Australia, wave that allows you to fly in one flight into the ACT, NSW and
Victoria for distance flight and above FL300 on the stacked lennies - well
what can I say, except come and join us at this year's Bunyan wave camp (1-9
September). Hope to see you there!!!

Fly high, fly long, fly fast and fly safely

Kind regards

Rick

Stonefield is known to many as Australia's preferred wave site. Erm . . .

Anyway, it was good enough to take us to 10,000 in the motorfalke on
thursday. For those interested:

Hi Tom,

Suggest you venture east to the Grampians if you are serious about wave
flying - May was a fantastic month for us. GAX flew 3 flights (May 4, 19
and 30) for an aggregate gain of height of just short of 56,000 feet, with
best height gain 22,915 feet to 27,277 feet AMSL and that in a humble 30
year-old PIK 20B with no motor.

Geoff,
Your site has had a great start to the Wave Season but don't forget
Bunyan - the Australian altitude record was flown from Bunyan is over 10
years old and still stands - bring it on.

Tom, 10,000ft wave flight hits about 0.5 on our excitement meter, we would
find that frustrating and disappointing.
