You were lucky to have mud ! we use to fly from a lake ! we had to get up in the morning, drain the lake, dry out the aircraft from the day before because someone hadn,t drained the lake properly, excavate the winch out and have all that done before breakfast,or the CFI would thrash us with a piece of stranded cable if we were lucky....
