I would use 4.5v, the analogue supply I am using currently, from efrontier
actually outputs that voltage.

As PDA's use LiPo batteries, they actually run off around 4v, so 4.5v is
fine.

What sort of PDA do you have Tim?

Some of the cheap <$10 cigarette lighter to USB converters have switchmode
voltage regulators in them. I brought 1 from Strathfield Car Radio and a
larger one from Jaycar. Both run my PDA fine and dont get more than warm. I
just broke open the case and removed the circuit board. It was small enough
to heatshrink and leave in the cable to the PDA.I think my PDA only draws
about 800mA though.

Which would you use? 4.5v or 6v?

Nick.

Hi All,

A quick note regarding 5v supplies for PDA's.

In a previous post someone asked about switchmode, high efficiency supplies.

A good cost effective option is here <http://www.rsaustralia.com/> then
type into "find" 361-4804.

For some reason stupid site won't deep link.

$24.95
