It is with a great deal of sadness that I have to advise you that Allan
Armistead lost his 21 month fight with
cancer this morning in Canberra Hospital.
Many of you will have known Allan; most of you will remember Allan as a
contributor in this forum
Allan had been involved with gliding for over 40 years with several clubs
round NSW, most recently with
Canberra where he had been a tug pilot before his cancer resulted in the
cancellation of his CASA medical,
and held the position of President for 2 years. Most recently he had managed
the Canberra/Bunyan Wave Camp
just 3 weeks ago.
Fittingly there were lenticular clouds over Canberra at the time Allan took
his final launch.
