You are talking about types and flying mindset becoming increasingly foreign to my own experience.
But good on you, keep trucking on the performance curve, and hopefully a reasonable segment in the sport can keep going that direction.
 
The juniors from my observation seem to be locking in at 1:40 as their affordability:performance point.
 
My own used to be 1:30, but more recent attention in line with moving to new equipment is toward ULS (closer to 1:20 like the Alatus)
 
At which point the comment at the top (misjudging final glide and landing 13km short)
is matched at my end by finding it hard to get 13km cross country.
 
And the thought arises - how can a sport at that spread of activity be promoted.
Possibly it means that these various segments will end up marketing only within their own framework.
