Geoff,

See what you are up against? The miserable Mr Buelter, because * he* seems unable or unwilling to set his own standards demands that they be set for him and everybody else to support *his* beliefs. A strange mindset for one who flys as "pilot in command".

He might even be right about the majority of GFA members. The system has driven almost everybody else out.

Under any system of course, Mr Buelter would be free to request as many more check flights than the regulatory minimum as he deems necessary or even request 10 people to check the rigging of his glider.

He must have a hangar space. I rig my glider every time I go to fly it. Done it since late 1972. Many others are in the same situation.

Hi Geoff,

You are making the assumption that all or at least most GFA members agree with your objection to annual check flights and dual control checks. I am of the belief that both add to the safety of our sport. I do not understand why it is so objectionable to submit to a second opinion regarding my skills (annual checks) or attention (rigging mistakes) on a very infrequent basis.

Best Regards - Rolf
