As a soon to be owner of a self launcher, (but not intending to be L2 Ind. Op)
I've been reading what I can to improve my knowledge of the dangers of this
mode of gliding.Only this morning?while eating my porridge I was reading about
an incident involving a G109 in Longreach almost exactly described by Mike's
hypothetical scenario. The article?may be found in A.G. May 1997. The outcome
was not good. Its worth a read.
Ah yes, I remember that article, did you read the later indignant letter to the
editor by the pilot involved,
that completely contradicts the scenarion written in AG by the GFA? The next
months issue I think.
