Having read your method, Mike sounds spot on to me.
A 400-500ft circuit should be easy for an experienced pilot.
That said, I am eternally grateful that I went and did a winch conversion some
time ago,
which made me very confident at low circuits.
At my next flight review the instructor complimented me on how ell I conducted
a "low" circuit.
I then explained that was a normal winch circuit!
