Guys

Spot tracking devices have been installed in all gliders in Standard class
for Day 4, Saturday 17 January 2009, of the Australian Multi Class Nationals
being held at Benalla, Victoria.

There are 19 gliders in Standard class - all gliders have a Spot allocated.

The link for Standard class is:
http://track.glidingmaps.com/event/multiclass09-standard/current/display

Launch time is 12:00pm. Class launch sequence is: Open, 15M, Standard then
18M. Start gates for each class open 20 minutes after last launch of that
class.

The task is a Racing task of:

Benalla

The Rock - 174 kilometres

Lochart Silo - 36 kilometres

Dookie - 154 kilometres

Benalla - 38 kilometres

Distance is 403 kilometres.

The forecast is a blue day with a possibility of some Cu in the north east
area of the task. Temperature forecast is 28C in Benalla. Thermal
strengths should be an average of 5-6knots distorted thermals over the task.
Heights forecast are approximately 6,000 to 7,000 feet. Wind is currently
south to south east at 2-3knots. Thermals should cut off at about 6:00pm
given the southern influence of the wind.

Some gliders have private spots installed so you may see one or two glider
in the Open and 18M tracking pages. No spots are in the 15 metre class.

Browsers to use are Firefox or Safari. Internet Explorer does not function
well.

Thanks to New South Wales Gliding through the Narromine Club for the loan of
their 10 spot devices.

Thanks also to John Wharington and Scott Penrose for the development effort
for glider tracking.

Ops Director
