Nice application. There are a few other that have similar features, most not designed specifically for flying. Bit like NextG > really. NextG is just a brand name. the iPhone does NextG if you are with Telstra. 3G is a set of protocols and frequencies. That said however, most of the land we fly and land on is not even covered by NextG - it might cover 99% of the population, but I believe it only covers about 10% of the actual ground :-) In Australia, we really can only use Satellite phone systems for position.
