HA There is an article about markings on the DG website and it is worth a read. It concerns tests done in the UK using various different markings and different levels of pilot skills from RAF pilots to us.
The washup, so far as I remember, is that standard high-vis colours don't work at all, even with skilled pilots while highly reflective 3M stuff does work a bit. Perhaps not worth sticking it on your glider though.
