Hallo Bob and welcome 30+ years ago Bob and his wife Jan were driving by and helped me derig and lift a Bergfalke over a fence (gate locked) after I outlanded after a 400km flight. Now that kids are grown up he has come to gliding. Perhaps we should be all leaving something small with farmer after outlanding or invite all farmers to an annual BBQ bit like often happens in UK
Back to markings Can remember from past think Mike Giles had flowers (I think) under glider while another had a heart. Actually it would be good as you would soon learn the good (and bad) pilots to fly with. As mentioned previously there has been use of 3M foil on the rear of rudder and most Swiss gliders do have some dayglow orange or red but this may be because of lots of snow in that country. I have noticed an increase in Helicopters (esp training) at many centres up and down east coast Australia and many of these are R22 and R44 and a high proportion are painted either black dark blue or dark grey (it seems to be a helicopter fashion). I have noticed these choppers are real hard to see as mostly they are below you when flying. Many countries do require choppers to have conspicious marking. Perhaps I should email "Flight Safety Australia" as I am sure I am not the only one with close calls with dark coloured helicopters Ian McPhee 2009/11/24 Bob Dircks <[email protected]> > What raised it in my mind recently was..... >
