Hi guys,
The Grampians consist of three ranges running roughly
north-south. The western sides are generally less steep than the
eastern side so the eastern faces of the Mt Wiilliam Range and Mt
Difficult Range are the preferred ridges, requiring an an easterly
wind. Very user-friendly nearby flat country too. The problem is,
despite having good topography, we get very few good easterly
winds. The western slopes are flyable in westerlies but there's
tiger country as far as the eye can see and probably tigers too.
As many of you would know the best wave sets up in the lee of the Mt
William Range in a 20-40 kt wind (ridge height) at 250-300 degrees
and when it's "on" it's really on! Anyone needing further info can

Grampians mainly seem to attract pilots looking for wave, so not
sure if the western slopes would produce any ridge lift.....?
