Max operating temp is 35C for Ipad, Iphone & Ipod
Biggest problem being if these devices detect that it is too hot a
warning screen appears with IPAD needs to cool down before you can use
it.
Anyone seen this message on a Iphone?

Your standard HP IPAQ has a max operating temp of 40 to 45C depending
upon the model.
I have launched with a ground temperature of 46C, inside the cockpit
must have been over 50C with no problems with the IPAQ.

But I would love to replace the IPAQ with a IPAD for WinPilot.

Subject: [Aus-soaring] Ipad

Some soaring software will run on an Ipad, eg Winpilot soon. On of its
attractions is all the other things that can be done with it, eg read
the newspaper in flight! However the tech specs have a maximum operating
temperature of 30 degrees. It often feels hotter than that on the grid,
has anyone measured cockpit temperatures in flight? Has anyone tried an
Ipad?
