Preparations for the QLD State Gliding championships are well underway with major renovations to the shower and toilet block, paving around the clubhouse and a refurbish in the main briefing room. Additionally extra toilets and showers are now available at the terminal building thanks to our local council and a clean-up of runway/taxiways and public areas. The camping grounds are now looking quite smart. Weather so far for winter has been very typical of a traditional QLD winter which is different to what we saw last year so looking like a normal spring might eventuate. For those wanting to come please take advantage of the early bird discount which is available until 20th of August. We have day prizes as well as awards, the comp is fully ballasted all classes or additionally there is a club class which so far is looking quite competitive. We are the closest gliding comps for those travelling from down south to be held in Queensland with diverse tasking taking in mountains and flatlands.
