I've been considering buying a spot for sometime and I've talked to a couple of
glider pilots who have used other Spot products (not this version) and heard
good things. The SPOT Connect lets you send (not receive) txt from your phone
via satellite so maybe useful for arranging a retrieve if out of phone coverage.
You can buy them on ebay for about $170 delivered to your door but then there's
about $150 yearly in service fees.
