Hi Everybody, Sorry if this sounds like a camera review...it is.
I've been using video sunglasses for a few years to film my lsa and gliding flights. The stanard resolution ones, 640x480 (ok), 720x576 (upscaled ok), 960x??? (upscaled bad!) all suffer from "rolling shutter" (Wobblies) but are fine for close-up footage. About $25 max on ebay. Better than nothing for someones T.I.F. video The 'keyring' cameras are similar and can be taped or 'suckered' to a glider, or a hat. $7 and up on ebay. The higher resolution models are better in every respect. Landscapes are recognisable from any altitude. *Beware* the resolution claims, make sure it says "true" 720p or 1080i. About $60+ on ebay. Most problems with these are cured by using a faster memory card. The flexible orange polyester circuit board in all these cameras usually fails at some point, I've had 3 do this. If you are considering buying the new 'liquid Image Ego' camera, be aware that you cannot stop and start video wirelessly like a go-pro remote, start only then wireless disconnects. (video quality seems ok however) Seeya.
