Hello Ann,
In my 10 years with the Grampians Soaring Club I have never heard any
mention of the Edenhope Glider and Sailplane Club. However, I'm sure
that the older gliding members of the Horsham Flying Club (formerly
the Wimmera Soaring Club) would be best placed to assist. Several of
their members would have been around at that time. Max Hedt comes to
mind as a mine of historical information for that area. I'll email
him and suggest he talks to you if he has anything to contribute.

My name is Geoff Langsworth, I live in Edenhope and I am the
Secretary of the Edenhope and District Historical Society.
I am researching the former Edenhope Glider and Sailplane Club that
was formed in Edenhope on 27th April 1953.
A " google " search located entries for Edenhope on the Waikerie
Gliding Club's website for Australian Gliding , August 1953 page 11
and December 1953 page 24. Finding these entries , I then searched
the old newspapers for Edenhope around August 1953 and found an
article regarding the formation of the club. I have attaced a copy
for your information.
The club existed for some years before disbanding but I do not know
the date or year. I am wondering if you have any records showing the
date the club disbanded ?
Hoping you can help me with my enquiry.
