Bernard,

I have earlier this morning replied off-line to your off-line email.

In that reply, I confirmed to you that I had sent my email to Aus-soaring
prior to seeing your post.

I however view the matter no differently after reading your post (below).

You are, in my view missing the point ... (a) the actions of a fellow
glider pilot are not the business of other glider pilots en masse, (b) the
name of that glider pilot and the glider pilot's home club is irrelevant to
the "coaching" issue you raise, and (b) your "public outing" of a
fellow glider pilot on a national chat site is simply not appropriate or
acceptable.

You have my ongoing appreciation and support for the efforts that you and
other coaches generously put in to our great sport in your own time and
often at your own personal cost.

This "outing" by you of a fellow glider pilot in a national chat site has
however, in my view, nothing more to do with "coaching" than had the
incident you refer to been damage to your car by a fellow glider pilot
(or anyone else) at your local shopping centre.

I am genuinely sympathetic to your frustrations that the (alleged) incident
took place at an organised gliding event and that this has (allegedly)
become a serious personal issue between you and the other glider pilot.

Had you expressed you "coaching concerns" with anecdotal reference to the
incident (while maintaining the anonymity of the fellow glider pilot) ...
no problem!

My comments have nothing to do with the fact that the fellow glider pilot
happens to be a member of the same gliding club as me ... my comments have
however everything to do with the fact that the third party is a fellow
glider pilot, a fellow member of GFA and a fellow human being.

Regards,

Kevin Rodda
