I'm not involved with Speed Week - but when I was at Avalon Air Show earlier this year I had contact with a representative from the West Wyalong council who told me they are very keen to attract gliding events to their town. That said I'm not sure they fully understand what is required, but given their interest in attracting events they may be willing to put the required infrastructure in place, they only have to look 50km down the road to see how Temora has benefitted from their investment in sports and recreational aviation.
