Gary,
          the Rego Label is fitted as required in the ACT up until 30/06/13, 
this photo was taken prior to then. Since 01/07/13 we are not required to 
display Rego Labels and we are no longer issued with labels, our Traffic Branch 
vehicles and some general duty vehicles are fitted with scanners, a device they 
refer to as RAPID, that scan number plates and detect unregistered vehicles, 
stolen number plates, if the owner has unpaid fines etc they are stopped on the 
spot. 

This leads to an interesting question at comps and camps; how do I know your 
car and trailer are registered when I'm asked to retrieve you if I cant see the 
rego label because as the driver I would be charged with driving an 
unregistered vehicle.
