I don't suppose the CTO could make an actual ENGINEERING decision?
What is the weak link for a Schneider ES57
Kingfisher, an aircraft of generally similar weight and configuration?
Or use the US FAR Part 91 as a basis?
I guess that would be authority actually taking
responsibility for something instead of just controlling it.

Thanks Graham.
I am on top of most of that and have more.
It is probably 300 kg (green) but I have to have
documentary proof before I placard it. A/T only, winch not allowed.
have also started a bit of conflict between Burns & CTO re record keeping.
Paper trail on this A/C is abysmal.
Mike supervised the first 4 built.
Any thoughts on the ASK 21 weak link?
Emailed Balaklava GC today as that is the only
other club that winches an ASK 21

Hi Chris
I canât find anything either. Re. the
deflections, I have only the ailerons (32deg UP,
8deg DOWN) and the elevator (20deg UP, no info
for down). No rudder deflections and certainly
no weak link. The plans and the construction
notes are available on the web, but I guess you know that already.
There was one built in Australia when Mike Burns
was CTO Airworthiness (about 1987 or so) so he
may have some recollections of the technical information for that aircraft.
All the best
Graham

Subject: [Aus-soaring] Woodstock weak link
Hi all,
I have tried to find out what the Woodstock
aerotow weak link should be but cannot find
anything. There is no woodstock in the GFA data sheets either.
I hope somebody can help.
Regards
Chris
