The Colibri II does this too. In vario display, digital altitude is displayed
on the screen to 1 foot. It allows setting of QNH or launch altitude.

The vario I used while hang gliding (made by Mark Fisher) had a very clear
digital altimeter on the front panel. When turning into weak lift I'd look at
it and note the exact altitude. A couple of turns later it was easy to see if
I'd gained height or not and exactly how much. I've never been overly fond of
the archaic analogue altimeters in gliders (tap the glass!!) and it's so good
to have a precise digital altimeter in a glider again with the C2.

Cheers,

Greg.
