Interesting how nuclear was the bad boy in my generation and now the saviour of the world. I wonder if Mr Gates is prepared to live or work next to one of these new generation reactors, or event better near the mines and processing, disposal facilities.
I don't think for a minute that zero carbon is going to make the slightest bit of difference. Implementing proper land management will, as our natural carbon dioxide absorbers could be reinstated, but that is not 'magic' enough and does not line the very rich pockets of the very few. Reducing emissions helps in a lot of ways more so that the carbon dioxide problem, but the destruction of our habitats is by far the biggest worry at present. - Stuart Kinnear On Sun, Feb 21, 2010 at 11:23 PM, David Connors <[email protected]> wrote: > On 21 February 2010 19:33, Ian Thomas <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Summary: At TED2010, Bill Gates unveils his vision for the world's energy >> future, describing the need for "miracles" to avoid planetary catastrophe >> > > I just watched the video and it seems he is an agw worrier - which I found > surprising - I didn't expect that.
