I think that what Jean Lockwood is doing will cover a lot of that. I
will be contributing some outlines or flowcharts as well as other
feedback, though I may not have much time until after 6 September.

Yes, I definitely want to improve the todo lists, but have not had
time to figure out a good way to do it that is also easy for everyone
to update when they start or finish a task. Leaving such lists to
Clayton or me to update means they are always out of date, and
attempts to automate the creation and updating have, so far, resulted
in very unintuitive lists.

"This project creates and maintains documentation in English for
OpenOffice.org. Documentation includes user guides, FAQs, HowTos,
application help, samples and templates and training materials."
That's the closest we've got to a mission statement.

I have been putting a lot of thought into this very question, but I
have not had time to write down any specific ideas other than a
mentoring program, which many people want but almost no one has the
combination of time, interest, and knowledge to actually do the
mentoring.

I recommend "The Art of Community" by Jono Bacon, Ubuntu Community
Manager, as a source of ideas; it is available as a free PDF download
from
http://www.artofcommunityonline.org/downloads/jonobacon-theartofcommunity-1ed.pdf
or you can buy a printed copy or the Kindle edition from Amazon.com.
