I sent a message from a different e-mail address then is subscribed yesterday and rather than bouncing it back with an unsubscribed notice, it just didn't post.
Is this because it has to wait to be moderated,
Yes, if you are unsubscribed, the message is held in a moderation queue.
Some moderators work differently. Usually, if I see that you have successfully posted using another address, then I drop the previous one from the queue. If I haven't seen your message on the list, I push it through.
A few days ago, I sent a message from my work address and did not want it on the lists, so I quickly asked the lead/moderator to drop it so I could send it again with the proper email address. This only works if you reach a/the moderator in time.
