Hi Garry Sorry I did not get back to you before this. I printed out Monday the Connnecting article. It looks good. I intend to try out the steps on a computer which is not so heavily loaded/customised as mine.
I think that a section in the guide for connecting to an Access database and using the data in OOo would also hit the spot. Should the guide have an appendix with sets of instructions on connecting to different servers - MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Access etc? At present this information is scattered all over and takes quite some finding - as I discovered when writing the FAQs! I have at present an outline only of some things to go in the Appendix. Can we sort of get all of us together and 'flesh out' the outline you have up on the authors page? I would see that there would be use in preparing a one or two paragraph summary to accompany each heading, perhaps putting some further subheadings or ..... That way the interaction between the chapters of the guide would be smoother. What do you think? I am pretty heavily committed at work at present, trying to fit in some overseas business trips in the next couple of months, and am not sure how much time I can devote to the guide. But if we have some clear direction and timetabling I can see better where I am heading. regards from the snow Martin On Sun, 13 Feb 2005 09:47:51 +0000 garry saddington <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Is anyone working on any part of the database guide.
