Having looked through the document, I don't think there are many instances where I've wrongly used passive language (not as many as I had feared) - I spotted three or four where you'll probably want to reject my amendments.
Other than that, I've had a stab at doing the section on Character Styles. Definitely just a first pass,and no screenshots (as I don't have OOo on XP) but hopefully not too bad.
Thanks for recommending Bruce Byfield's articles in the doc. I tracked down a few and did find them very useful.
I'd be happy to have another look at the chapter later on and maybe add in the sections on conditional styles and page styles.
