Close enough. That refers to versio 1.0 and we're talking about 2.0. But I don't think they are materially different. First of all, I think it's a mistake to treat these licenses as if they were intended for software. GNU draws this distinction, and calls it a free license not intended for anything functional like software. > It seems Debian considers it non-free. For example, it requires you to include the boiler plate at the top. That restricts modifiction. It also requires you to include the license inside the work, which also compromises modification. And it requires you to keep a record of changes, which also compromises modification. Compared to that, the CC attribution is pretty darn free. Also keep in mind that the reason we want to change license is because we'd like to be able to modify documents to an extent not permitted by the PDL.
