in 2.0, the QS is *automatically* loaded after installation, which is a CLEAR violation of these guidelines.

Peter, do you mean that in the public beta the QS is now automatically loading after installation? ;;;In the beta candidate release that I have (the last one before the public beta), the QS was *not* automatically loading after installation.

Yes, that is what I mean.

This happened just a few days ago when I installed it.

If it didn't load on your in the taskbar, I am confused, because that is what is supposed to happen so that the liscense agreement shows up.

IIRC, on my machine the Quickstarter did not load into the taskbar upon installation (at least, I did not see the icon there), in any of the recent developer's releases. I do not have the public beta yet, so I don't know what it will do on my machine. (And it's possible I'm misremembering what has been happening in recent builds.)

However, upon first starting OOo (from the shortcut on my desktop, which did appear upon installation), the license agreement and other stuff showed up before the program ran for the first time.

This happened on my XP machine Jean. The reason was I did not remove the previous user prefs file it installs by default on the C drive so all my options were there from the last install. If you totally delete any folder or reg entry after uninstall, and there is a lot left behind, then yes it does install on the initial installation.

Short version: anyone installing OOo 2.0 will get the Quickstart loaded by default until they go into Options to turn this off. I don't agree with this and think they need to put the option back in the install process to either load this or not load this.
