I meant to write "chapter as a book", instead of "book". :(
i) The PDL prohibits derivative works (an individual chapter).
ii) The CC-by allows derivative works (an individual chapter) to be
commercially distributed (printed by a competitor).
The scenario I'm looking at is a publisher taking Andrew's
contribution, and publishing it as an individual book, using the CC-BY
license.
A slight variation of that scenario nearly killed an L10N project I am
involved in, last week.
The problem/issue here for Andrew's publisher, is that the
competitor's publication is seen as the same as the book that Andrew's
publisher has put out.
