No, I recommend not including in the Math Objects chapter the instructions on how to number equations manually, because I should think that normally the built-in AutoText works fine. I think that including manual instructions would just complicate the matter and confuse the reader.

I still think Sigrid's problem is that the AutoText shortcut is different in German. Once the correct shortcut is identified, that problem should be solved.

Daniel, what you've just written will go very nicely in the Fields chapter we're writing.
