It looks very good. Everything is explained very clearly, and the example used throughout is good in showing some of the more advanced things one can do with mail merge, without getting too involved in digressions. Well done, Iain.
My edits were mainly changing most of the remain passive sentences to active (a few I deemed "appropriate use of passive"), making a few items into numbered or bulletted lists, and applying some styles to things that still had OOo's default styles applied (for example, the frames around figures and their captions had the default style "Figure", which I changed to "OOoFigure".
After my edits have been incorporated, I think this chapter is ready for Janet to do a final edit and publish it.
