Well, thanks everybody for the warm welcome.

As I mentioned in my first mail, I am still working on a tutorial (and on the French user manual) for OmegaT so first of all I'll get back to you when I have news on that front.

As far as all the rest in concerned, I will take the time to check all the info you gave me within the next few day but not right now since I'll be off to Osaka tomorrow (to renew my already 10 years old passport...) and I have a few real life jobs that I use to feed the kids among other things, with deadlines tomorrow and friday :)

If any of you has questions about OmegaT I am ready to answer, in public or private. To summarize the thing:
-create a project (menu)
-drop sx* files in the /source folder (by hand)
-open the project (menu)
-start to translate (see the "F1" manual for OOo files specifics)
-created the translated final files (menu)
-check them in the /target folder

The benefit of OmegaT is that you don't have to worry about format issues. The string you translate is just a text string that you overwrite. The creation process re-injects all the format info in the /target files.

You can use glossaries, previously created translation memories (you can also create them from all bilingual documents etc), you can drop full folders into /source and the whole folder structure will be reproduced in /target etc.

Ok, I am off now. Need to work before going to bed !!!

Thanks again, I'll be back soon :)

Jean-Christophe (JC)
