I want to move the Art and Faq folders to English. I think it makes
sense if we are going to switch to the Wikipedia-style front page.
Naturally, this means that their URLs will change and links will be
broken even when we go back to the oooauthors.org domain.
Does anyone object to the change?
I have no objection to moving the FAQ folder, but I wonder about
Art. I think most of the things in Art at the moment are for
English, but some (like the seagulls used on the chapter title
pages) would be used by any language. I don't know the best way
to handle this; perhaps an Art folder where it is now for general
items and other Art folders in the language sections for
language-specific art?
On a related topic, and while we're cleaning up and deleting
folders, most of the stuff in the Art/New Template Title Page
Project folder is drafts of the current chapter template. I
suggest the user guide cover and the two seagulls images in that
folder should be moved to the Art/User Guide 2 folder and all the
rest of the draft stuff be deleted, along with the New Template
Title Page Project folder itself.
As for broken links, that doesn't worry me at all. I'll even help
hunt them down and fix them. :-)
If you plan to move the FAQ folder, we'll need to inform Scott
Carr, who will probably need to modify a script he has for
copying FAQs from OOoAuthors to Docs. I don't know how automated
his process is -- whether it runs on some schedule or only when I
tell him that something has changed in the FAQs.
Cheers, Jean
