Sorry, I don't know any way to do this.
You see, Plone keeps the entire site in a single file (a database)
called Data.fs. It's not separate files. So you can't just copy a file
to a folder with ftp. Maybe there /is/ a way to upload many files, but I
don't know what it is.
I guess we can look into Marko's suggestion of the "External File"
product and see how it would work.
