Last weekend Christian Lohmaier and Ian Lynch came up with an
interesting idea regarding the user guide license. The idea is that we

keep using our current, easy-to-use license (GPL/CC) but allow OOo to
use our work under the PDL as "original documentation". The "initial
writers" section would contain the people listed under "Authors".

The point is, we wouldn't need to track changes or do the other things
that made the PDL inconvenient. We also wouldn't need to change
template again, or change our documents. I can just add a note to the
user guide folder to this effect.

I am not a lawyer, but to me this looks like a win-win scenario. We
keep the benefits of our current license system, while letting OOo use
the work under the PDL if they want.

Is there now a final decision for this solution? (I only remember one
-1, the rest says +1). If we say "yes", I will send the solution to the
native-lang-mailinglist and tell them, that they can use our documents
under the PDL.

Linda, what's about your questions and doubts? Are they already cleared?
Or are there any questions left?

I think, we should come to an end :)

Hello everyone!  Sorry I have been away for a while.  I just wanted to email on list that I agree to the PDL change.  I emailed Daniel offlist yesterday as well.

Thanks
Linda
