To me an how to is similar to a recipe, that it hoe to obtain a certain result, you do this and this. No real teaching on what or how or when. Whilst, a tutorial should start from a certain level, say beginner, then go through a number of steps to reach another level say middle experienced. The lessons would be step wise including why, where when as well as how.
