Try to do the following: Tools- Options - Draw - Grid. Then increase
Subdivision points horizontally and vertically to 4 or 5 points.
This makes the grid much better visible.
Thanks, that helps a lot. I'm still not crazy about it, but now at least
it's visible... until you zoom in a lot. As you zoom in, the points
become more spaced out and harder to see. I set the subdivision to 99
points, and that helped. But the lines are still thin.
But beware:
The subdivision of course influences the behaviour of objects snapping to
the grid. A very high subdivision will make snapping as good as
unvisible/unnoticed.
