Does page 10 of the Template Guide help:
http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/resources/feedback/Template%20HowTo%20for%20V2%20docs_14April2006_JHW_GS.odt?
Actually, it's page 6 (by the page numbering at the bottom)
I thought there was a separate doc somewhere that explained it. I
haven't read this "howto" for a while...maybe I should look it over
again...
Rick, because our "template" isn't a real template, you need to use
the "Load Styles" technique described in the how-to Gary mentioned. If
we were using a real template, there is a different technique, which
is described in Chapter 12, "Working with Templates" in the Getting
Started book.
I've been considering setting up our template as a real template. We
didn't, originally, because so many people at the time didn't know how
to use it properly. It's may be time for a change, though I'm not
convinced of it.
I recall that one of the reasons we didn't use a real template was that
document properties didn't work right -- property values set in the
template did not show up in documents created from the template. I
haven't checked to see if this problem has been fixed.
