Hello there. I am not sure of your history. Are you brand new to
OOoAuthors or have you been around. Before I feel ready to send you
in a direction I would like to know if you are familiar with the
website or not.

Peter,
Dick has been around OOoAuthors for awhile. Among other things, he
reviewed (and revised) the chapter on Calc for the Getting Started
book and the chapter on Calc/Excel in the Migration Guide. He also
worked on the Mail Merge chapter for Writer, and probably some other
things I've forgotten.
Cheers, Jean
Jean -- you replied better than I could have!
Peter, as Jean said, I've been involved with a few chapters, both Calc
and Writer. I haven't done anything for a little while though, and would
like to get back into contributing. I'm familiar with the website
although I have to confess still being a mite confused from time to time
as to how the whole write / review / edit process is supposed to work.
I'm semi-retired, and my primary part time job (among several) is that
I'm the OpenOffice.org trainer at a medium-sized non-profit health care
facility. There are around 200 computer users. The organization made the
decision about a year ago to move from MS Office to OOo for cost-savings
reasons. As part of this job, I've learned a lot about OOo which I
didn't know before, as various people have various specific needs, some
of which I was previously familiar with, and some of which I wasn't.
I've written up many training documents, all designed to fit into a
1-hour block of instruction; because of the nature of the business, it's
really tough for people to get away for more than an hour at a time. The
training materials I've written have covered Calc, Writer, Impress, and
Draw (not Base yet). The level of computer expertise in general is not
particularly high at this facility, however, thus my statement that my
knowledge is fairly broad, but in some cases, not all that deep.
Hope that gives you some idea of where I'm coming from.
