The problem and the start of this discussion on de dev (and before on wikipedia.de) was not really the point of using screen shots in general but using it in a documentation which is licensed in a free license like PDL. The problem is/was: If You accept the MS License and their right of existence (I see it as hot air or like marbux it wrote on documentation) You can use the screen shots in Your document but You can't publish it under a free license like PDL ! Because the MS license don't give You the right to own the screen shots (only the right to use it for Your work!) and that is the base for giving others the right to use Your document or parts of it like PDL it grants.
