Hello team!
It's been a year since the second edition of the Getting Started
guide was published, so I'm doing a quick&dirty update.

I'll put the chapters on the Review List as I update them. I
would be grateful for anyone to check them to see what I forgot
or goofed up. If you know of things needing to be added or
changed to chapters I haven't got to yet, please feel free to
tell me now and/or edit the relevant files yourself.

I want to have this book up to date for OOo 2.2 before
publication, so if you have the release candidate, that would be
great. Otherwise, 2.1 should be fine for checking, because 2.2 is
supposed to be bug fixes, not new features.

This is not the time for major rewrites, but of course if you
find unclear sentences, grammatical errors, or inconsistencies,
do correct them.

Note especially to US Americans: most of this book is written
using international (aka "British") English spelling and
punctuation conventions, with the exception of "color", "dialog"
and "program".

Thank you.

Hello Jean,

I think this is an excellent initiative. Since I received several
complaints about the Getting Started with Impress, do you think it may
be possible to perform a bit more substantial intervention on this
chapter? what are the deadlines for providing something for review?

Cheers,

Michele
