Three chapters intended for the Calc Guide have never been
written -- or at least no draft has ever been put on the website.
I (and I'm sure you) would like to see that book finished and
published, so I am looking at ways to get the missing chapters
written. Dick Detwiler is working on one of them (Data analysis
using scenarios and goal seek), and I am talking with Andrew
Pitonyak about how to handle the chapter on macros.
The remaining chapter is one that Rick Barnes was working on:
Ch3: Formulas and functions. Unfortunately, Rick has been ill for
well over a year, and he has not been able to produce a draft.
Rick has written much of the Calc Guide (and done a great job,
IMO), but I think it is time to move on and find someone else to
write this chapter... or find something already written (in any
language) that we could use for this chapter.
Does anyone or know of suitable material (in any language) whose
author would allow us to republish, or use as a basis for a
chapter in our book on formulas and functions?
