In Tools > Options > OOoWriter > Compatibility, I select:
* Add spacing between paragraphs and tables (in current document)
* Add paragraph and table spacing a bottom of table cells
I deselect all other items on that page.
Specifically, I do NOT select:
* Add paragraph and table spacing at tops of pages (in current document)
There may be others, but tht's the only one that comes to mind right now.
