Hello All, Will add my personal point of view on the points raised in this thread.
Dialogs checkboxes and tabs As Jean stated there is not much point in debating on what the best option is and we should follow Gary. So if dialog box is to be preferred I will make the change when accepting the changes proposed by Sak and Jean to the chapters they have reviewed. I will also try to get rid of all the checkboxes substituting "options" and make sure that every "tab" becomes a "page". US spelling I guess I am guilty for all the colours behaviour and flavours you find... Usage of OOoEmphasis, OOoStrongEmphasis and other characther styles for elements in a dialog box (<-- see? I am learning :-) ) I think it would make sense to draft some rules and stick them in the template as there is a rather inconsistent usage of the character styles in this area (and I am probably one of the worst offenders). When describing a dialog box we have: - dialog box name - pages of the dialog box - sections of the dialog box - options I normally use OOoEmphasis for pages sections and options while I use OOoMenuPath for indicating the options to be selected. This is however a kind of in house rule, so when reviewing chapters written by other people I did not enforce it. Editorship I will be happy to volunteer as editor of the Impress Guide which I know very well in terms of layout and structure while still referring to Gary for matters of grammar and style. Cheers, Michele
