Welcome! The actual Help files (that ship with the program) are not
done by OOoAuthors, but if you're interested in working on user
guides, FAQs, or how-to's (single-topic articles), you've come to the
right place.
To begin, do you prefer to work in Writer (producing .odt files) or on
the wiki? The user guides have traditionally been produced as .odt
files and then copied to the wiki, but one can also work the other way
around. The wiki also has additional material, including how-to's,
FAQs, and tutorials.
If you prefer to work in Writer, you need to sign up at the OOoAuthors
website, if you haven't already done that.It's a separate signup, in
addition to this list and the main OOo website. Then let us know your
login ID and we'll grant you author privileges (this allows download
of working -- unpublished -- files and upload of files).

Do you have a particular area of knowledge or interest? Spreadsheets,
for example?
Most newcomers start by reviewing draft chapters, but you are also
welcome to plunge directly into writing a chapter after discussing it

Hi Jean,
I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I knew this was to be help with the user
guides and such. My comments were only to point out how very important I
now know documentations for programs to be.
I would like to stay with Writer ,odt files. I have registered at
OOoAuthors and my login ID is MagikMan. As fas as a preference to what,
I think I could start in Calc or Base at first. Really, where ever you
would need the help. I'm flexible and willing (OMG did I say that!).
